Project 3 was very frustrating for me.  I thought that it was going to be an easy project and fun, but for me I am not sure I found either in this one.  I was very happy when it was finished.  I do like how it came out, nut won’t be in a rush to do any others soon.  Maybe later when I have more information and practice behind me.  I don’t really have much to say about it.  It took a lot more time then I thought it would.  The classes all looked so good when we put them up on the board to critique.  Here is mine and then the classes.

Todays class was learning more about Typography.  We went through ways to change our projects.  After a little while of working on them we put them up for us to critique as a class.  This project has been fun and hard at the same time, so far.  I have had fun finding the pictures for this, but a hard time thinking of sayings to go with the pictures.  I luckily have a very creative family that has been able to help me with ideas.  I am now looking forward to being able to play with the texts and the arrangement of them.  It is still frustrating to me.  My professor has told me to work through the frustration.  I hope that I can.  I have to say it was nice to see everyones work, but I am not sure that mine will get there.  I guess I will see.

Todays class was filled with information.  My brain got to a point that it couldn’t keep up with the information.  I liked the Charrette we did.  It really helped to try and understand how type is important.  I found this one easier then the first one we did.  We are going to be doing them every week.  Hopefully that means that they will become easier to do and help with thinking more creatively.  Below are the pictures from todays Charrette (our group, then the classes).

Todays class was again very interesting.  We learned about InDesign, which looks like it is a great program.  We all put our 3 transformations into a document in InDesign and then printed them.  I really am impressed with how everyones turned out.  It is amazing to think that we were all given the same instructions, but what we finished with were so different.  Everyone is so creative.  I actually didn’t feel to under creative compared to everyone.  I think I still need to work on my creativeness, but at least I know that it is still in me.  Here is my final version of my transformation and the classes both first printing and then the nice glossy/matte ones.  I am very happy with how mine turned out.

Ok, class is tomorrow and we need to have 3 Transformations done.  This I found harder then I had expected.  I found I didn’t trust my creativeness.  After scanning in several things I finally settled on flowers that I had gotten for my wedding anniversary.  I just scanned them and then tried to rely on what I had learned in class so far, and things that I knew about photoshop.  It took several tries and going back to edit a lot, but I think I have the 3 that I like the best.  I think that they all work together.  It was nice to have some feedback for the Facebook group to help give me ideas and things to change or think about.  I am excited to learn the 2nd part of this in class tomorrow.  We will be working in InDesign.

Class again was really interesting and flew past.  So much information to learn.  The second project looks like it is going to be fun.  I am excited to see how it goes.  I started to play a little in class, but didn’t realize the time and had to leave.  So excited to work on it at home.
There are 3 programs that we will be learning this semester.  1) Photoshop – I learned photoshop when I first went to school, but it was a much older version.  I have learned the newer version of it though for personal use so I am familiar with it, but definitely not what we have been learning so far.  I know it basically for photos, digital scrapbooking and to create invitations (which I discovered probably wasn’t the best place to make them).  2) InDesign – I haven’t used very much, so it will be fun to learn it.  I started trying to learn it by myself a few years ago, but got overwhelmed.  3) Illustrator – again I started to learn, but didn’t have the time to learn much.  So all 3 programs that I will be learning look to be fun things.  Again I walked away from class excited about it and looking forward to future classes.
